He was elected as a Board of Director by the Annual General Meeting of shareholders that took place on November 23, 2019.
Qualification/Education History He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Addis Ababa University and a Post-graduate Diploma in Development Planning from the Institute of Development Studies (ISVE), Napoli, Italy.
He has participated in the liberalization studies of the Ethiopian financial sector and development and capacity building of the commercial banking sector, insurance companies and microfinance institutions in Ethiopia.
Work Experiences He has 37 years of experience in the banking sector holding senior positions. He was a Deputy Department Director; Deputy Director and later Director of the Ethiopian Institute of Banking & Insurance and V/President of the Construction and Business Bank (CBB).
He is currently serving as a Board Chairman of Awash Saving & Credit Cooperative – which is the first Ethiopian SACCO registered member of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and an Associate Member of the African Confederation of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (ACCOSA).
